Club elections, dues and member rights
Election eligibility and attendance rules, weekly dues, member expectations and member rights.
Before accepting an election nomination, check the eligibility and attendance rules below. All members should also read the expectations and rights set out here for the school year.
Elections
Nominations cover president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, early shift PRO and late shift PRO. Anyone nominated may decline a nomination for any position.
Attendance
Candidates for president or vice president must be present on election day. An absent candidate for either position is considered to have dropped out.
For other positions, an absent nominee is considered to have dropped out unless they provide a sensible reason for their absence.
Eligibility and speeches
A lower school student cannot run for president, but can run for vice president.
Anyone running for president must have the club listed on their report for both the Christmas and Easter terms of the previous academic year. Presidential candidates should prepare a speech lasting less than three minutes.
Member expectations
Members are expected to:
- Treat other members with respect.
- Pay a minimum of $100 in dues each week.
- Keep personal drama out of the club space and the club’s communication channels.
- Refrain from profane, obscene or hateful language.
Racism, sexism and all other forms of hate speech will not be tolerated.
Member rights
The executive board has a duty to respect these rights:
- Leaving the club and removing your data. You may leave the club at any time and have your data removed from its records.
- Access to your data. You may access and receive a copy of the data the club has collected from you. Request it by emailing softwareengineering@campioncollege.com.
- Knowing how your data is used. You have the right to know how the club uses your data.
- Fair treatment. You have the right to be treated with fairness and respect.
- Privacy. Data the club collects from you will not be used or accessed outside club purposes.
